Toodle-pip to you too! Reblogged this on ashokbhatia and commented: For those who are new to the world of P G Wodehouse, here is a post which offers interesting tips on where to start devouring his sunlit works. To those who already reside in Plumsville, this post offers a new perspective on the order in which his works may be savoured. I would recommend reading the novels starting with the first one, Thank You, Jeeves, which is of the same high level as the masterpieces, has some of the best set pieces in the series, and is certainly better than the later ones.

Banks ever given in the works of Wodehouse. Its recitation by Madeline Bassett leaves hearer Bertie Wooster in a state of dazed horror. At the time of writing there was bad blood between Wodehouse and fellow author A. The book included several satirical jibes aimed at Milne, for instance after Bertie pressured by Madeline Bassett agrees to recite Christopher Robin poems at the village concert, he laments: "A fellow who comes on a platform and starts reciting about Christopher Robin going hoppity-hoppity-hop or alternatively saying his prayers does not do so from sheer wantonness but because he is a helpless victim of circumstances beyond his control.
